The artists had a wonderful day visiting Bolinas, California and the farm and farmstand of Gospel Flat Farm.  Proprietor, Mickey Murch, and his extended family were on hand to greet artists as they were picking produce and bringing it directly to the 24 hour farm stand.  Behind the farmstand is a gallery; the art space hosts a variety of artists, ranging from baby music classes to gourmet dinners and progressive art exhibits.

The fog cleared to reveal Bolinas Ridge in the back ground and a sunny and bright glow of colored stripes emerged in the fields.  Thank you to the Murch family for letting us enjoy this amazing day with you!

This was the greatest attendance day of "Art on the Farm" artists in recent history, and there were several new artists from the North Bay Plein Air group on site as well.  A few in attendance were Larry Bryson, Donna Solin, Catherine Moreno, Diane Lewis Hull and her husband, Mark Monsarrat, Catherine Fasciato, Daphne Wallace Gerlach and many more.  Here are a few photos of the day, with more to come!

2013 Summer Visits

Fragrant & Farm Fresh Lavender awaits!

We have a new website to show you from Cow Track Ranch, and we are delighted to be visiting Liz Daniels on Sunday, June 9th.

Please do put this one on your calendars!  Cow Track Ranch is one of the favorite places to visit, partially for it's dramatic rolling hills that embrace the property, and in part for the rustic buildings, tractors, and gardens maintained by proprietor, Liz Daniels.

Enjoy browsing their new site, which was not up last summer when we visited.  It has so much great info on their lavender products and more, plus the photos are marvelous.  The property has a Bed and Breakfast on site, and is rented out frequently for one-of-a-kind,  "Real Weddings".

New Season Starts May 5, 2013!

Fellow Farm Artists and Friends,

Founder, Alan Mart, has set up the kick off of the 2013 Art on the Farm season--

Our first trip will be to Toluma Farms, hosted by Tamara Hicks.  Please sign the release to participate and sign up for our newsletter, below.  Directions to Toluma will be emailed out to our list before May 5th.  We may soon go to a "Meet up" type of scheduling this year, as some other plein air groups have become successful with this online program.  If there is a volunteer interested in running the "Meet up" page for our group this year, please contact us.  The fee seems to be $12. a month to use Meet up.  Since our group has been traditionally free, we hesitate to move to this with out asking all if they would be willing to donate $1. a year or so to help defray costs.  Perhaps a donation button on the site might work to cover the basic expenses.

Congratulations to the entire group for a successful fundraising exhibit at Art Works Downtown in 2012.  Art Works Downtown sold 13 pieces of art from the exhibit, with a percentage going back to the  Farm Field Studies Program for Marin Organic.  The building-wide exhibit was very well received by the public and enjoyed during the holidays.  Thank you to all the artists for contributing work and attending the events.

Art on the Farm at Art Works Downtown

"Farm to Fork", pastel by Carol Allen

A pastel by Carol Allen sold last night at "Art on the Farm" at Art Works Downtown. The pastel speaks about eating organic & "farm to table".

Please visit the exhibit at Art Works Downtown before it ends, January 17.  Just one more week!  To date, 12 pieces have sold from this exhibit (10 from the main gallery, and 2 from the Marin Jewelers Guild walls).

Art Works Downtown is open today, Saturday, from 10am to 5pm (and I hear they have leftover food from last night's reception! : )

Bolinas Gallery Exhibit 2012

Ongoing now through November 25th, our annual Bolinas exhibit gives a percentage back to the Farmer's Loan Fund.  This exhibit has been organized by Founder, Alan Mart of Bolinas, and volunteers have assisted with installation and gallery sitting.  Photos courtesy of artist, Frances Healey.
